I’m really in Northern Ireland
#GodsGotThis . #LifeofAnEditorTeacher . Deep Thoughts . Ireland2022After two long days of travel and more than three years of dreaming, I stepped off an Aer Lingus plane late Tuesday (July 20) onto Northern Ireland at Belfast City Airport.
It was an amazing, surreal feeling. I’m in Ireland. Somewhere I’ve dreamed about for years. This is truly my bucket list experience.
Honestly, (now) I’m glad COVID-19 happened. The delay – this was set for 2020 initially – made landing in Belfast that much sweeter.
I’m grateful my aunt gave me some pounds and euros – which on the advice of the trip leader i exchanged it and put most on my debit card. This allowed me to purchase the plane ticket with no hesitation yesterday when it seemed like I would be in Heathrow for several days without a way to Belfast.
Souvenirs are great – and I can still bring some happies home for me and a few friends – but honestly, I knew getting here, and experiencing Northern Ireland was truly more important. (And I can always make a book list for later purchases lol).
This afternoon we are venturing into Belfast – and there’s a “fast fashion” store where I can get some clothing to bridge the gap until my luggage comes.
My plan during this experience. Re-boot my blog. To do more writing for me, and not just for freelance clients. I’ll post quick things on Facebook, but this is where I’ll take a few deeper dives into the experience.
It’s said that Ireland is one of those thin places – a place where the division between heaven and earth is tissue paper thin.
That’s what I desire the most. To see God in new and unexpected ways – and through my posts I’m inviting you along, to see God in a new way.
Just glad to be along for the ride!!
